Finds what right-click can't
Vidow watches the page and its network requests together, so it catches streams hidden behind custom players, iframes and blob URLs.
Browser extension for Chrome, Edge & Brave
Vidow spots every video stream on the page you're already watching — MP4, HLS, DASH, even blob links — and saves it to your computer in original quality. No uploads. No converter sites. No sign-up.

Features
Find it, choose it, save it. Vidow handles the fiddly parts so you never have to dig through developer tools again.
Vidow watches the page and its network requests together, so it catches streams hidden behind custom players, iframes and blob URLs.
No re-encoding, no watermark, no compression. You get exactly what the site delivered.
Pick from every rendition the site offers — 4K, 1080p, 720p — or keep just the audio track.
Queue every clip on a page at once and let Vidow work through the list in the background.
Segments download in parallel and join on your machine. If your connection drops, Vidow picks up where it left off.
Detection, downloading and merging all run inside your browser. We never see the pages you visit or the files you save.
How it works
No desktop app, no pasting links into strange websites, no account to create.
Install it from the Chrome Web Store and pin the icon to your toolbar. It takes about ten seconds.
Press play, or just let the page load. A badge on the Vidow icon shows how many videos it found.
Open the popup, choose a resolution and click Save. The file goes into your downloads folder.
Use cases
Watch offline, keep your files organised and stay in control of content you have the right to save.
Take the lessons you paid for on a plane, a train, or anywhere the Wi-Fi gives up.
Archive recorded calls and webinar replays before the share link quietly expires.
Recover video from a CMS, a client site or a staging server when the original files are long gone.
Collect reference footage you're allowed to use for study, subtitling, editing or archiving.
Why Vidow
Converter sites ask you to hand your video to a stranger, then fill the screen with ads. Vidow does neither.

FAQ
Here are the ones we hear most. The full FAQ covers the rest.
Vidow is a browser extension that finds the video streams behind the page you're viewing and saves them to your computer. It works on the page you already have open, so there's nothing to paste, upload or convert.
Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers, including Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi. Firefox and Safari aren't supported yet.
Direct files such as MP4 and WebM, adaptive streams such as HLS/m3u8 playlists and MPEG-DASH manifests, and video served through blob URLs or embedded players. As a rule of thumb, if it plays in your browser, Vidow can usually save it.
Yes. Vidow reads the playlist, downloads the segments in parallel and joins them into a single playable file on your computer. Nothing is sent to an outside server for merging.
Inside the extension, not on this website. Open the Vidow popup and choose Upgrade to go through a secure checkout.
No. Vidow only looks at a tab when you ask it to, and it never sends your browsing activity anywhere. Our privacy policy explains exactly what the extension stores on your computer.
Add Vidow to your browser and stop hunting for download buttons.
